Our Story

    Market and started selling sterling silver along side their daughter, Marlene, who
    sold computers.  His business was named Silver and Things and the daughter’s
    business was named Horizon Computers.  Later leather was added to the inventory.

    In 2003, Bob, along with his daughter, Marlene, in a joint venture, opened the
    Leather Hut and Horizon Computers in Theodore, Alabama.  With integrity at the
    core, they enjoyed great success expanding their store space.

    In November, 2005, his other daughter, Darlene (they are twins), came aboard as
    Vice President, Human Resources, Marketing and Sales and a five-year business
    plan was implemented.

    A team from the Leather Hut, lead by Paul Broadus (son-in-law) began to set up at
    bike rallies.  

    They began to attend meetings for different groups of bikers: The Christian
    Motorcycle Association, Southern Cruisers, Motorcycle Division for the Shriners,
    and many others.  The Leather Hut became a trusted name among bikers.

    The Leather Hut is a member of the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce and the
    Better Business Bureau.

    The policy of the Leather Hut is to give the public the best product at the lowest
    price possible.   Our motto is, “Integrity is the single most important thing in life,
    business, and leadership.”  Our slogan is, “Integrity is the heart and honesty is the
    soul.
